Assemble at Ikea Car Park at 12 midday for a 12.30 start. We will have a leisurely drive to Crawfordsburn Country Park where we will have the opportunity for a picnic stop (bring your own).
At 2pm we will leave for the drive to the Somme museum where we will have a guided tour of the facility. The museum provides exhibitions, displays, information, and an institution for the study and interpretation of Ireland’s contribution to the First World War, with particular reference to the Battle of the Somme and to commemorate the involvement of the 36th (Ulster) Division, 16th (Irish) Division and 10th (Irish) Division in the First World War. At approximately 4.30 pm we will be leaving and have a short drive to Cloud 9 restaurant at the Ulster Flying club Newtownards where we will have a sit-down meal prepared from 5pm.
