End of Season Run

Sunday 9th October 2016.

Lawrence Stanford organised the End of Season run which turned out to be a very popular day. With nearly 30 cars turned out for the Sunday afternoon start.

As well as the cars he also brought the sun as well after a very rainy few days before.

We travelled down through Carrick and on to Eden where we turned up over the back roads to Mossley and on to Ballyrobert. We had a quick catchup stop before heading on through Templepatrick and on to The Castle Gardens in Antrim.

Lawrence had arranged for the cars to be parked up in the closed off Gardens instead of the main car park, which was just as well as the place was very busy given the good weather.

After Tea and Scones (split into two sittings due to the numbers) there was a guided tour of the award winning gardens. With the four centuries of history there was a lot to get through.

It was also good to see both David Lauro and Michael Fegan looking so well, after both being absent from the club due to illness.

Due to most of the afternoon being taken up at the gardens we ran out of time to visit Waterfowl Park (some other time perhaps) so went directly to Ballymena Golf Club for our evening meal.

This was an excellent run, helped a lot by the weather and at a cost everyone could afford. Many thanks to Lawrence Stanford for organising such a wonderful day out for the last run of the season.
