Late Members Run

Sun 21st May 2017
Entry Closed

Glenarm Castle
Glenarm Castle

We meet at The Loughshore Hotel at 10am for a 10:30am departure.

We take the scenic view for the drive to Glenarm Castle, arriving at approximately 12 noon.

On arrival we parking will be directed to parking area set asside for us.  We will have a private guided tour of the Castle followed by a tour of the gardens

There has been a Castle in Glenarm since the 13th century, although the present castle was built in 1936 by the 1st Earl of Antrim Sir Randal McDonnell.  The Walled Garden is one of Ireland's oldest walled gardens, was originally built to supply the castle with fresh fruit and vegetables.  There is also within the garden a Tea room selling home made cream tea or a light lunch as well as a gift shop selling Glenarm Castle merchandise as well as gifts for the gardener.

We will return to our cars and be leaving Glenarm by 4pm heading up the coast to the Laragh Lodge, arriving at 5pm for our evening meal

Please choose from the menu on the supplied on the entry form.

The run costs £24.00 adults, £10.00 children (primary school age).  This includes tour of the gardens and the castle as well as the evening meal.  Lunch is not supplied so you may want to bring your own picnic or avail of the tea room in the gardens.

Although this event is open to any vehicle registered on ore before 31st December 1994, the Late Members Sheild will only be presented to club members who has the best turned out car on the day.

This is a exception day out as the Gardens are open from May to September, the Castle itself is very rarely open to the public.

Please remember to fill in your choice for the evening meal.
