Belfast - Portrush Cavalcade

Sun 5th August 2012

The East Antrim Old Vehicle Club (EAOVC) will host the annual Belfast-Portrush Cavalcade on Sunday 5th August 2012.

We are pleased to anounce that this years charity is ‘Tiny Life’ a charity dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies born in Northern Ireland.  Last year over 1800 babies were born prematurely in Northern Ireland so this year they need your help more than ever.

The event is Sponsored by E.A.Davies Insurance & Co Ltd, Glengormley for the 11th year.

Last years event raised over £6,000 for 'Friends of Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital'.  The money wass raised by placing adverts in the Souvenir program along with sales of ballot tickets leading up to and on the day.

Last year's Cavalcade assembled from 8.30am at Belfast Zoo, setting off at 10.30am and travelled through Glengormley, Templepatrick, Antrim and Ballymena.  The cavalcade stopped for lunch, for approximately an hour and a half, at the Tullyglass Hotel, before completing the run through Ballymoney, Coleraine and Portstewart and finished at the Royal Court Hotel, Portrush.

The day ended with a Three Course Dinner, followed by presentation of the finishers awards and the drawing of the ballot.

Everyone is welcome to come and see the 100+ cars from 1920's to 1980's, either along the route at the roadside as they pass through, or at any of the stops through-out the day.  The Club really appreciate the support public has given through-out the years
